Rocket Strike

Violence in the Middle East rages on.

On Saturday, rockets hit a soccer field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, killing 12 children and injuring another 44 people. The United States and Israeli authorities have blamed the attack on the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which “firmly denied” responsibility in a statement.

Just hours after Israel’s PM Netanyahu vowed the group would “pay a heavy price,” the Israeli Air Force conducted retaliatory airstrikes on seven Hezbollah targets “deep inside Lebanese territory” and along the border. The “terror targets” included “weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure.”

Israel and Hezbollah have been returning rocket fire almost daily since Hamas’ October 7 attack. As the tensions have grown increasingly volatile, concerns are rising that the conflict between Israel and Hamas may lead to a broader regional war.

ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE
War is heavy and ugly, and reminds us of the need for redemption through Christ. Jesus came to lighten our burdens and bring us unexplainable peace. Pray that the Middle East would experience the peace that comes through Christ alone.

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (CSB) (
